1. A warm welcome
Thank you for choosing to learn Buteyko breathing with me. Practised gently, these techniques can bring real benefits while remaining safe for most healthy adults.
2. Purpose of this notice
All course content—videos, PDFs, live sessions and written materials—is educational guidance only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, nor to replace professional medical or therapeutic advice.
3. Potential benefits
Learners often report:

4. Who must not use this course
-
Anyone who is pregnant or suspects pregnancy

Adults with:
-
sickle-cell anaemia
-
an arterial aneurysm
-
kidney disease or a diagnosed brain tumour
-
very high, uncontrolled blood-pressure
-
heart attack, cardiac surgery or stent in the past three months
-
5. Who should obtain medical clearance first
Diabetes, severe asthma or COPD, epilepsy, schizophrenia, unstable blood-pressure, unexplained chest pain, any serious health condition, or any situation where altered breathing could pose a risk—please consult your doctor before starting.
6. Safe-use guidelines

Go gently — never force your breath or body.

Practise seated or lying down, away from vehicles or machinery. Do not follow sessions while driving.

If you feel unwell at any point—dizzy, in pain, distressed or uncomfortable—stop immediately, return to normal breathing and seek medical help if symptoms persist.

Continue all prescribed medication; only your doctor should change dosage. Even if symptoms improve, always carry any prescribed rescue medication (e.g., a reliever inhaler) and consult your doctor before altering treatment.

Allow at least 90 minutes after eating before practising breathing exercises.
7. Emergencies
Dial 999 (UK) or your local emergency number for chest pain, severe breathlessness, fainting, marked dizziness or any symptom that alarms you.
